The Performa 6400 represented a radical change in the Apple line. Proving that Apple had learned from the previous Holiday season, (when they under produced the popular 7500's and 8500's and over-produced lower end Performa's) The 6400 was one of Apple's first consumer-aimed mid-range computer. The Performa 6400 came in a newly designed "InstaTower" case, and ran on either a 180 or a 200 Mhz 603e processor. It also shipped with an internal 28.8 modem and a video-output port. The 6400/180 initially sold for $2399. The 6400/200 sold for $2799. Both models were recently replaced by the 6500 line.
